How much can a driving licence cost in practice?
Your final cost mainly depends on how many extra driving lessons and test attempts you need. These examples use OSK KopaMa’s prices for its course taught in English; other schools may charge different rates.
The examples with extra lessons use the standard rate of PLN 210 per hour. KopaMa’s own students pay PLN 180 per hour, saving PLN 60 on two hours. At that rate, the total is PLN 6,559 for a manual course or PLN 6,759 for an automatic course.
Minimum scenario – manual
Course, medical exam, one theory exam, one practical exam, and issuing the document.

Example: two extra hours and a second exam attempt – automatic
Minimum scenario plus two extra driving hours and a repeat attempt at the practical exam.
PLN 6,177 + 2 × PLN 210 + PLN 222
PLN 6,819
This example doesn't include the photo. A repeat exam may require a separate fee for using the school's car again.
What can increase the final cost?
The final price of a driving licence can go up if a candidate needs extra lessons, retakes an exam, or uses additional services from the school. The scope and price of such services should always be checked directly with your chosen school.
Extra driving hours
The price of an extra hour depends on the driving school. OSK KopaMa charges PLN 210 for one with an English-speaking instructor, but offers its own students a lower rate of PLN 180 — worth checking whether the school you choose offers a similar discount.
Retaking the theory exam
Every repeat attempt at the theory exam requires paying the PLN 55 fee again.
Retaking the practical exam
Every repeat attempt at the category B practical exam means paying the PLN 222 fee again, at the rate charged by the exam centre.
Using the school's car for the exam
Some schools let you take the exam in the same car you trained in, for an extra fee. At OSK KopaMa this costs PLN 360, or PLN 300 for its own students — a good example of the kind of question worth asking when choosing a school.
A longer break in training
After a longer break, a candidate may need extra refresher lessons before the exam.

Manual course
After passing the exam in a car with manual transmission, you can drive both manual and automatic cars. The example course price used in the calculation is PLN 5,400.
PLN 5,400Automatic course
An automatic transmission can make it easier to start learning and lets you focus more on observing traffic. A driving licence obtained after such an exam comes with a restriction to cars with automatic transmission. The example course price used in the calculation is PLN 5,600.
PLN 5,600Calculate your driving licence cost
Choose the course type, extra lesson hours and exam attempts. The calculator uses fixed example prices from OSK KopaMa for courses taught in English: PLN 5,400 for manual, PLN 5,600 for automatic, PLN 210 per extra hour and PLN 360 for providing a car.
It excludes the photo and the school’s lower rates for its own students (PLN 180 and PLN 300). The result is not a quote for other schools.
